Volunteer Programs

program3Volunteer Programs: These are the major programs both international and local volunteers can sign up to;

1. Education and Literacy

Volunteers are given the opportunity to teach both formal and informal studies, life skills in and out of the study rooms. Kitenge Africa Foundation runs a community learning center that accommodates over 400 community children from nursery to secondary school; here volunteers can also facilitate children trainings and mentorship programs into life skills and livelihood skills, counseling and guidance, physical education and sports, creative arts and any special skills or knowledge that is helpful to the children. All these are practiced at the school although it can be also extended to the community. For only $100 per 3 months, volunteers can sign up to this program. 2. Medical Assistance

Kitenge Africa Foundation also gives professional/trained medical volunteers the opportunity to extend medical assistance both to our ground children and the rest of the community. Volunteers in the medical area will be able to address the day to day medical needs of the children at the school and also those of the rest of the community at a nearby community clinic. For only $100 per 3 months, volunteers can sign up to this program. Single and group volunteers can all be accommodated. Please contact us.

3. Community Outreach & Sensitization

This program gives volunteers the privilege to associate with the rest of the communities most of which are vulnerable and include all age brackets of people. These communities mostly comprise of very peasant people living below the poverty line and are illiterate. Volunteers are therefore expected to participate in activities that cause community development. These include; Community sensitization, i.e. HIV/AIDS counseling and testing, family planning, child protection training, life and livelihood skills training, entrepreneurial skills and micro-finance, agriculture and farming, human rights, building and construction of community facilities.
